NZ Plans and chocolate

Hello!

While sitting in Alice Springs and waiting for the car getting repaired (clutch = Kupplung) I'm participating in the planning for the NZ-Travels.

We will rent a real motorhome (Wohnmobil) to have a shower and so on.

And a newsletter by stiftung-warentest has inspired me to go shopping very soon:

back in Alice Springs - ready for going north ?!??

Hey ya'll !

for now I'm back in Alice Springs from Kings Canyon / Ayers Rock and The Olgas selfdrive-tours.

At the moment I try to assimilate all the different impressions from the last days.
Even the drive through this "Red Centre" (and the night in the middle of nowhere) is an outstanding impression for me!

The current task I'm considering about is if my clutch should be replaced or if I should risk to drive the 1500km up to Darwin.

As you can see on the pic obove, my plans are to go to Perth via Broome, Port Hedland and Geraldton - and of course see Shark Bay, The Kimberleys and so on... a total of at least 6000km.

Let's see, if the car will last it and if it will be possible to continue to Brisbane via Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. Maybe I have to take some flights and maybe I will miss some spots. But of course - honestly - I'm flexible at all.

So let's see what it's gonna be...

3rd day - Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) only

The third day in the "Uluru-Kata Tjuta Nationalpark"


Ab 11:00 Uhr wg. anstehender grosser Hitze wird der Trail geschlossen.

Also bin ich schon um 08:00 dort.... und die Hitz' ist noch ertraeglich...




Die Brocken sind echt gewaltig gross!!

Nach einer Weile mit wenig spektakulaeren Aussichten dann diese Ebene im Hintergrund:

kommt zwar nicht gaaanz soo gut aufm Foto rueber... ist aber echt die Muehe des "Hiking" wert!



Da ich ein feuchtes Handtuch vor die Atemwege packe,
laesst sichs echt gut Atmen!

Das Fruehstueck war gut, drum jogge ich einen Teil der Strecke...
klingt verrueckt - ist auch so.

Die Energie muss raus!

2nd day at the ROCK

The second day was like this:

08:00 - Ranger Guided Tour - for free until 10:45
11:00 - 14:00 - Visitor/Information/Cultural-Centre: Airconditioned!
14:50 - Start des "Uluru Base Walk" mit dem eigenen Mountain-Bike (maximale Hitze).

Ich schwitze mich selbst ungefaehr droelf mal aus mir selbst heraus... :0

Morts ein Koloss!

Uebrigens: ROT IST DIE FARBE DES AYERS ROCK - WEIL EISEN NUNMAL ROSTET !!

Heilige Staetten habe ich NICHT fotografiert und den Ayers Rock auch nicht bestiegen... !

Los gehts mit dem Mountain-Bike!

Ayers Rock & The Olgas

G'day ya'll !

Hope you all are doing very well.

Here are some more good news:

After hiking the Kings Canyon yesterday and spending a night at the Kings Canyon Resort (Campground) I safely arrived @ the Ayers Rock Campground and checked in.

This MAP shows that the spot I'm staying is completely remote... but as an advertisement about Alice Springs said:

I'm in the area that is the closest to ALL AUSTRALIAN BEACHES - think about it! ;-)))

Pictures are coming soon. I guess in two days when I plan to be back in Alice Springs again.

Der Preis fuer LPG ist im Ayer Rock Resort echt guuuat !!
Isch bin begeistert... und da macht das Reisen gleich mehr Spassss!

Nach einem eindrucksvollen Tag
auch ein entspr. Abendessen mit lokalen Bierchen...

Man muss sie ja mal probiert haben...
